Hello!

I’m Dr. Ali Pişkin, an economist affiliated with Yalova University, Türkiye. My work revolves around the big questions of how economies grow, how regions develop, and how we can pursue sustainability in a rapidly changing world.

I studied economics at Istanbul University and later completed my Ph.D. at Yıldız Technical University. Along the way, I’ve taught courses on international trade, growth and development, and environmental economics, and I’ve guided graduate students exploring topics like income inequalities, trade, and human development.

My research often looks at the intersections of globalization, trade, and sustainability—from export diversification and renewable energy to the ecological footprint. These issues matter not just in academic debates but in real life, shaping policies, businesses, and communities.

This site is where I bring those ideas together. You’ll find my academic work, but also more casual blog posts where I share insights on economics and sustainability in Türkiye, the United States, and the wider world.
